JUST IMMIGRATION REFORM NOW!!!

Centro Humanitario Leader Dionisio Pelayo

Gilberto Velazquez Rivera

Channel 9 was at El Centro on the morning of April 8th filming part of their story about DU Campus Ministry’s PB&J Nights that provide our workers with lunches on Wednesdays in Denver.  Here’s the link, which has both a written story and the video that aired on TV featuring Centro’s Development/Outreach Director Anne Dunlap and our very own Denver Day Laborer Leader Gilberto Velazquez Rivera.

1st Cleaning Day Aurora

Cleaning Day Aurora Colorado March 2009

We began with 15 Day Laborers but at the end more than 40 workers showed up.  We cleaned on Dayton from the Shadow Theater on Colfax to Montview street.  This was an action that the leaders themselves came up with to show our organizing power in the streets and also to support the area where they wait for work every day.  More actions like this will be happening in the coming weeks.  Go to the links below to see the Denver Post Slide Show and article.
