about the project

Women's coop in Action!

The Immigrant Worker Project promotes the positive impact of America’s working people in our community.  We want to highlight what most media and academic sources have found ways to hide:  that the immigrant working force is positive, pro-active, enhances our communities, and is the historical backbone of this country. We do this not with rhetoric, but with actions, actions that within themselves are stronger than words.  Here you will find stories, testimonies, photos, videos, games… art in all her forms that show our positive impact.

The project’s driving force is the idea that all human beings are born free and have the right to pursue their happiness.  And that we have the right to organize against anything that threatens those rights.

So far this project promotes the work that Centro Humanitario is doing with the Day Laborer Population of Denver and Aurora as well as with the Women’s coop and Legal Clinic.  Here you will find our struggles, our successes, and how we are organizing to better our communities, our families, ourselves and the new world that we want to see for all.

We hope that other organizations sign up to the project and add their good work in this blog or that they create their own blog, so that everyone can witness the good that happens when people come together to organize for a better future.

As the Zapatistas saying goes “Everything for everyone, nothing for ourselves”, hence we want to share with all of you the good we are doing because it is not ours, its everyone’s good.

Saludos

Raul O. Paz Pastrana, Organizing Director Centro Humanitario Para Los Trabajadores
