JOB DESCRIPTION: Worker Owned Green Cleaning Co-op General Manager

Reports to: Executive Director, Centro Humanitario Para los Trabajadores (Humanitarian Center for Workers)

POSITION SUMMARY
Green Cleaning for Life, LLC is Denver’s new green cleaning co-op that is run and controlled by workers in the underserved community. The general manager is mainly responsible for marketing, fundraising, obtaining clients to ensure the growth of the green cleaning business. The specific responsibilities include daily operation such as co-op member training, organizing schedules and making estimates to ensure that inventory is created and maintained.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Marketing and co-op promotion (35%): develop creative strategies to promote the co-op and increase contractors/client bases through active outreach and local networking. The outreach activities include: identify local networks, attend local events and train members to represent the company, conduct customer surveys, educate potential customers about the benefits of least toxic cleaning, organize customer specials, prepare print advertisements, and analyze customer sources. Protect and develop our market niche.
- Fundraising (35%): Write grants (private and federal) or contract bid proposals in order to secure and to develop contracts/client bases.
- Finance (20%): Prepare annual budget, oversee bookkeeping and accounting and technical services.
- Member Training/Education (10%): Build leadership of workers, develop green cleaning training materials, and conduct green cleaning training to members. Foster a culture of worker-ownership among co-op members.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bi-lingual preferred (English-Spanish)
- At least two years of experience as solid supervisory position or manager.
- At least two years of experience in financial management, marketing and fundraising
- Experience in industry and with cooperatively owned business preferred.
- Commitment to creating democratic workplace and social justice.
